DU3 Overview

Dansk Uddannelse 3 (often referred to as simply DU3) is a language education program designed by the Danish government for foreigners living in the country.

Structure

DU3 consists of six modules:

  • Modules 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 form the core program, concluded with the Prøve i Dansk 3 exam.
  • Module 6 is an optional module, created for people interested in attending a higher education in Denmark. It concludes with the Studieprøve exam.

Both, the Prøve i Dansk 3 and the Studieprøve exams, can be taken only twice a year - in May/June and November/December.

All DU3 teaching is done in Danish and you should expect homework every day.

Enrolment

You should contact your local language school for information. Alternatively you can look into the online options.

Cost & Time

In 2018, new rules for Danish classes were implemented under the Danish Education Act. As there are many variables it's best if you contact your local language school to check the cost and time frame that applies to your situation.

For a general overview you can read this article. For the official rules (in Danish) you can check the ministry website.
